New old house!

For those of you who dont know, We have moved back to South Weber! Yes we have a "new" old house that we bought and are in the process of fixing up. Most of these picture are a month or two old so they are kind of "before" pictures, i will put some after pictures up in a bit. If anyone every came to our BBQ's at the pond then you drove right past this place. Some of you even know it as the Peacock lady's house. Yes that one... As you can see, it hasnt had a lot of love for a while so we have out work cut out for us. Luckily we are moving into a great ward, and have already had 3 service projects! A lot of the trees were overgrown and the pfitzers in the back seem to have organized into a crude tribe of barbarians. Luckily we were able to beat them back and they are now submissive once more. We are very happy to be in our new house, even though it is 40 years older than the one we are leaving behind. Cant wait to show everyone the finished project!
This is the view of the front. Obviously.

Most of the interior work being done right now is in the living room. This picture is after we tore down the old wood paneling (long live the 70's), removed the old insulation, and this is right after the new insulation was blown in. Those of you wishing you had olive green wool carpet, eat your heart out.

Link is helping Angie remove the cabinet doors just prior to painting them white. We also had to take the cabinets down in order to reinstale them to make room for the new appliances. And yes, the old stove and fridge matched the carpet perfectly.

This is a picture of the back of the house... What you are seeing is a greenhouse/atrium that was built onto the back. This is where the pfitzers were organizing against us. If you lool at where the grass starts you can see how far out they had grown. Believe it or not, i even found a dead deer in them this spring... Talk about killers!

The north side of the house. You can see where we framed in a door and window.

Dad and Tim putting up sheetrock in the living room.

We have a couple deer that call the place home, but i couldnt get the pictures to load

I actually thought ahead and brought some pictures with me in to work so i can upload them for the viewing pleasure of my public! The following are excerpts of the last few months of Lincolns life.

This is at the Layton park during one of the few warm/dry spells we have had this year... It was also the first time Link has really had to run in a park.

"This is one amazing granola bar!" He doesn't speak very well yet but i swear that's what he's thinking.

Link also loves the slide, but for some reason he has taken to going down them on his chest. I think he has a little more control over his speed that way.

I would say this is pretty self explanatory.

Just a little late night reading...

Link will do anything to avoid bedtime. Even if that means slaying a giraffe, two bears, and a lion, then claiming his position as king of the knocked over foot rest!

After having a long talk with Lincoln, we all decided the best way to avoid having toys spread out all over the house, was to keep all playing located in the tote.

Mmmm Fruit Loops!

What a good lookin guy huh?

Who doesn't like to play in a big box of packing peanuts? Seriously i defy anyone to pass up an opportunity like this! It cant be done!

Thought id post a few pics of Link... These arent exactly in chronological order, but close enough.

Link sitting on the mower trying to figure out how dad got it to go!

This is grandpas deer hunting hat Link found in the garage.

Link dressed like an Aussie!

All the cousins on Memorial day. Link, Ben, Ansley, Nate, Matt, and Jason!

Angie thinking she stands a chance against me! If you look close, you can see Link sitting on Angies lap. This was one of his favorite rides.

I, have a blog?

Its been about a year since i last blogged, and i doubt that anyone has even noticed. I dont think i really publisized the existence of this blog. But for those of you hard core bloggers who check every day, just waiting for a new post, this is dedicated to you.

Much has transpired in the last 10 months or so. Our house went on the market and due to the wonderful "Obama-nation" that our economy has become, we had zero interest in for the first 7 or 8 months. Luckily things have gotten at least slightly better, to the point that we currently have a offer under contract on the house. How long its going to take to close, is anyones guess. The good news in the equation is that we already have a house to move into. A dream house you might say.

I know its not much to look at, and some might say the best thing for it is a match and a park bench to sit on while you watch it burn, but i think it has pleanty of "potential". The main thing that drew us to it, is location, location, lot size. This baby sits on 1.25 acres, and compared to the .3 acres we are moving from, that is a drastic increase. Sure we are moving from a 2 year old house, to a 32 year old cougar, but in this life everything is a trade off unless your rich, or a democrate. I am neither. We are just excited to have some breathing room away from HOA's and nosy neighbors.

Lincoln is growing into quite the little man. He is at the top of his class, and i hear they are thinking of making him the new mascot! He never ceases to amaze us with his wit and sense of humor. He is a real crack up. I really cant wait to see the man he becomes. Im hoping he becomes the type of man with a job that allows him to support his parents...

Id like to say that im going to make a resolution to be on here more and blog my heart out, but the reality of the matter is that within the week i am more than likely going to forget i have a blog, until Marcie reminds me a year from now that i need to update it. At which time ill have to hit that stupid little "Forgot your password?" icon under the log on screen and jump through all the same hoops i did 20 minutes ago... Then again, maybe ill be back tomorrow! dun dun dunnnnn!
